Attorney-at-Law, Trinidad and Tobago

I'm an Attorney-at-Law based in Trinidad and Tobago. I hold an LLM in Legal Practice from the University of Staffordshire (2025), following an LLB with Second Class Honours through the University of London.

My practical grounding came from in-service training at S. Seecharan & Co., where I drafted for civil and criminal matters, prepared conveyancing documents, and worked on family law files.

I bring rigorous attention to procedure and a commitment to keeping clients informed in clear, practical terms. I'm equipped to manage matters independently and I approach every file with diligence and care.

Before law, I spent several years as a property and drone photographer. It was precise, technical work that I took seriously, and much of how I work now started there.

02 — Practice

How I can help

These are my areas of practice, and I bring full competence and care to each matter I take on.

  1. 01

    Family law

Divorce petitions, maintenance, custody, and protection orders. I handle these from first instructions through the drafting and filing the court requires.

  2. 02

    Conveyancing

Preparing and reviewing the documents that move a property from one owner to the next, and keeping the file in order so the transaction closes properly.

  3. 03

    Civil matters

Drafting and procedural work for civil disputes, applying the Civil Procedure Rules so filings meet the court's requirements.

  4. 04

    Criminal drafting

Preparing the written documents criminal matters depend on, on the drafting side of criminal practice.

  5. 05

    Technology and AI regulation

The focus of my postgraduate research, and an area I advise on. My work examined how the EU and UK are regulating artificial intelligence — the EU AI Act alongside data-protection law — and I bring that grounding to organizations here, helping them align their data-handling with the general privacy principles of Trinidad and Tobago's Data Protection Act. Where law meets new technology, I'm glad to work through it with you.

On regulating artificial intelligence

My LLM dissertation examined the regulation of artificial intelligence, focusing on how existing legal frameworks strain against systems that learn and where new rules are being drawn.

I continue to follow the field because it moves quickly and the law is still catching up to the technology. Questions of liability, transparency, and how to govern a technology that outpaces legislation are where my interest is strongest. The work is also a reminder of what careful legal practice demands: reading closely, reasoning from first principles, and staying with a hard question until it yields.

If you'd like to read it in full, you can download the dissertation (PDF).

04 — Experience

Training and experience

My legal experience comes from the in-service training every attorney completes before being called to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago. I served mine at S. Seecharan & Co. across 2025 and 2026.

2025–2026

S. Seecharan & Co.

Legal Intern, In-service training

The six-month placement required for admission to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago. I drafted documents for civil and criminal matters, assisted with conveyancing transactions and the property documentation they require, and worked on family law files including petitions for divorce, maintenance, custody, and protection orders. I also applied the Civil Procedure Rules to non-contentious matters to keep them procedurally sound. I describe this work in general terms on purpose; the files themselves are confidential.

Before law — prior background

Cornerstone Properties

Real Estate Photographer & Aerial Imager

Prior background, before law. I produced photography and drone imaging for property listings. I mention it because it shaped how I work — precision, and getting a brief right the first time on someone else's deadline. It is not part of my legal practice.
